Founded by Venkat Sudharshan, 859 Daily Grind is a creative hub built to spotlight Kentucky’s rising talent and connect the artistic and entrepreneurial communities that keep the Bluegrass region thriving.
Venkat is a creative powerhouse with a passion for promoting local talent and businesses. Through 859 Daily Grind, he shines a light on comedians, musicians, and entertainers—giving them a platform to share their craft, grow their audience, and build authentic connections with the community.
But his vision goes beyond the stage. Drawing from years of grassroots marketing, education, and community outreach, Venkat helps small businesses and creators find their voice, tell their story, and stay top of mind in an increasingly noisy world. His mix of creative strategy and storytelling brings both artistry and impact to every project.
Over the years, Venkat has performed at a wide range of events and collaborated with incredible local and regional artists—including Devine Carama events, JK-47, DJ Limbs, DJ El-Trane, Isaiah, Bill-Nod Cipher, Rhymerelated, Georgia Rtist, Headbobbin Ent, Handover Fist, Black Falcon, and Idrys. He’s also taken the stage at shows featuring Akrobatik and Blueprint, and even freestyled live for the legendary KRS-ONE. In addition to larger showcases, he has performed at weddings, house parties, and community gatherings that bring people together through music and creativity.
Beyond his work as an artist and promoter, Venkat is a counselor, educator, lyricist, and community builder. Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Champaign, Illinois, he holds a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky. Certified in counseling (CRC, CVE), Venkat has worked extensively with children and families, including those with special needs.
